I think you all know by now that I am working for this company called Opera Academy Singapore. One of my task there is the Head of Acting. I will create and craft the acting curriculum and also conduct acting training for secondary level students.
Currently we have 3 levels, ie. Kinder, Primary and Secondary
Let me explain in layman term.
Opera Academy is a Malay Theatre school.
So if you sign up for yourself or your child, let's say for Secondary level meaning age 13-17.
You will be attending 3 years of theatre school. 4 terms a year. 10 weeks a term. 1 session per week.
In this school, you will learn holistic modules of acting, malay music, malay dance, malay writing, malay martial arts.
Trust me. Just once a week for 3 years, you will have a complete Malay Theatre education.
Honestly I think it is worth it. I for one would love to go to a theatre school like Nafa and La Salle but I couldnt afford it.
But this Malay Theatre school is honestly worth it. You would also get opportunities to perform in Opera Academy events, performances and recitals. Currently I am directing a number of students as they will be performing in the Cebu International Festival a few weeks from now.

Don't be discouraged by the word bangsawan or opera. Everyone will learn malay theatre skills. It is just a direction for recital and performance.
So yes, if you have children, sign them up for kinder, primary and secondary levels.
For now I don't have tertiary level yet, so if you are tertiary students aged 17-22, just sign up for the secondary level classes and I will see you there.
Really it's worth it. If I am younger, I would sign up. And also the campus is centrally located.
