OUR FIRST PRODUCTION
Wan Belantara
10th and 11th January 2025
Goodman Arts Centre
SYNOPSIS:
WAN BELANTARA is inspired by Farid ud-Din Attar's poem “Conference of the Birds” and the winning poem “Raja Adil Raja Disembah” in 2012's inter-school Deklamasi Sajak Kreatif competition.
The play will feature a group of ants plotting and embarking on a journey to send tributes to a newly elected king of the jungle. This is a special moment for the animals in the jungle as previously the lion and its descendants has always been the king. But this time, a different animal has been elected as the king and it is a time for celebration.
Along the journey, the ants recollect the deeds of the previous kings and how the current king is the best in, and for, the jungle.
